This full sun-loving plant is a great nectar source for butterflies. It takes two seasons to really get its growth, the first year is devoted to roots and the second to height and width. They go dormant in winter but don't worry- it will bounce back late spring! Bright red petals with yellow centers, extremely vivid flowers to bring the butterflies!
Germination
Another easy care plant - Start the seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost to get flowers earlier; plants from seeds sown outdoors may not bloom until late summer or early fall. Seeds should germinate in 2 to 3 weeks at room temperature. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours before planting to improve germination
