Aloe conifera

Compact bluish leafed Madagascar aloe. This small growing species thrives on the tops of mountain ridges where temperatures can be very cool and misty so it does well outdoors in NZ. Makes an excellent showy house plant for sunny locations. Plants flower during mid-winter and the flowers are highly scented, smelling of passionfruit and other delicious hard-to-place fruits. Plants rarely offset so this species will never be common.
Seeds usually germinate within three weeks and seedlings are hardy. They can be transplanted at any size.
