Mimulus cardinalis
A startling bright red flowered perennial Mimulus. Like all in the genus, this species loves wet feet and can be grown in boggy locations without fear of rotting. Seedlings are slow to grow for their first 4 months but transplant well and once established, will slowly spread. Flowers starting in summer. Plants are frost tolerant when mature.
Sow seedlings at 16°C or above and expect seeds to germinate in 2-3 weeks. transplant seedlings at 2-3 months and then grow either in pots or plant into the garden. Seedlings should flower within 6 months of sowing.
